Casino Tips: Bankroll, RTP and Bonus Maths

Avocasino strategy board with chips

Start with a budget, not a target

Decide before you play how much you can lose without it affecting rent, bills or savings, and treat that amount as the cost of entertainment. Splitting it into 50 to 100 equal units and betting one unit per spin keeps a session going long enough to be enjoyable. Raising stakes to win back losses is the most common way a budget disappears.

  • Set a deposit limit in the cashier before your first deposit, not after a bad night.
  • Set a time limit and stop when it is reached, whatever the balance.
  • Never deposit money meant for something else.

RTP and house edge

RTP (return to player) is the share of all bets a game pays back over a very large number of rounds. A slot with 96% RTP keeps on average €4 of every €100 wagered. Over a short session the result can be far above or below that, but the more you bet, the closer the average loss gets to the house edge. Check the RTP in the game's information screen: some providers release the same game in several RTP versions.

Volatility

Volatility describes how wins are distributed. Low-volatility slots pay small wins often, high-volatility slots pay rarely but sometimes very large amounts. With a small budget, high volatility means a high chance of losing everything before a big hit. Demo mode is a free way to see how a game behaves.

Calculate what a bonus costs

A bonus is worth only what you can realistically clear. The calculation is simple: wagering base × multiplier × house edge = expected loss while wagering.

  • Avocasino welcome tier, €100 deposit: (€100 + €150) × 35 = €8,750 in bets. At 96% RTP the expected loss is about €350.
  • The €5 maximum bet means at least 1,750 spins, and the welcome package gives 10 days for that.
  • Bonus winnings are capped at 5x the bonus, free-spin winnings at €100.

If the expected loss is higher than the bonus, playing without a bonus is often the better choice: you can withdraw any time, and your deposit only needs the 3x turnover required by the terms.

Read the bonus rules before you accept

  • Which games count and how much (at Avocasino, table games count 10% and live casino is blocked with an active bonus).
  • The maximum bet: one bet above it can void the bonus and its winnings.
  • The time limit and the win cap.
  • What happens if you withdraw: at Avocasino, a withdrawal request cancels active bonuses.

Crash games

Crash games such as Aviator have a fixed RTP, usually around 97%. No cash-out strategy changes that: an early cash-out wins more often but pays less, a late one pays more but rarely. Decide the cash-out multiplier and the session budget in advance and do not double stakes after a loss.

Live dealer tables

In blackjack, basic strategy lowers the house edge to around 0.5% depending on the rules. In European roulette the edge is 2.7% on every bet. Side bets usually have a much higher edge than the main game. Choose a table whose minimum bet fits your units.

Before the first withdrawal

Upload ID, proof of address and payment documents early, so the first payout is not held up by verification. At Avocasino the standard limit is €500 per day, so larger wins are paid out over several days or months.

When to stop

If you play longer than planned, hide gambling from people close to you or borrow money to play, stop and talk to someone. The operator offers self-exclusion through support for six months to five years, and free help is available from organisations such as BeGambleAware or the gambling helpline in your country.
